Dwayne Johnson is an American actor, producer and professional wrestler. He’s best known as “The Rock” and for his lead role in The Fast and the Furious film franchise. Johnson was born Dwayne Douglas Johnson on May 2, 1972 in Hayward, California. His parents are Rocky and Ata. He has two siblings, Curtis and Wanda. Johnson attended Freedom High School followed by the University of Miami. He played college football for the Miami Hurricanes where he won a championship in 1991.

CAREER
The Rock made his professional wrestling debut with the World Wrestling Federation in 1995. He has won the WWF/E Championship eight times and is the sixth ‘Triple Crown Champion’ in WWE history. The Rock has also won multiple WCW/World, Intercontinental, and Tag Team Championships. He’s also know for his famous feud with fellow wrestler Stone Cold Steve Austin. The Rock made few appearances from 2004 to 2009. He returned part-time for WWE in 2011.

Johnson landed his first starring role as “Mathayus” in The Scorpion King (2002). He reportedly made $5.5 million, the most by any actor in their first lead role. Johnson followed up with prominent roles in Be Cool (2005) with John Travolta, The Game Plan (2007) with Kyra Sedgwick, and Faster (2010) with Billy Bob Thornton. He starred as “Luke Hobbs” opposite Vin Diesel in Fast Five (2011). The role of Luke Hobbs was reprised in Fast & Furious 6, Furious 7 and Furious 8. Other notable films include G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Pain & Gain, San Andreas and Central Intelligence. He voiced the character “Maui” from the animated film Moana (2016).

Johnson was ranked #25 on the Forbes list of Most Powerful Celebrities in 2013. He was named among the world’s 100 most influential people by Time magazine in 2016. People magazine chose Johnson as the Sexiest Man Alive in 2016. His star will be added to the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2017.
